Learn to Darn Workshop In-Person

Have a holey sweater or socks you’re not ready to throw out? Come darn them with Ethan Hessler! Darning is a technique for repairing holes in knitted fabrics and a wonderful way to extend the life of clothing.

Covering a basic method known as basket darning, Ethan will show participants how to use a simple needle and yarn to weave patches over damaged areas of knit fabric. Participants are encouraged to bring one of their own items to repair, but we will also have socks to practice on.

This event is for adults (18+). All supplies provided. Limited seating available.

About the instructor: Ethan Hesser is a local resident with over 10 years of sewing and mending experience! He's passionate about sustainability and extending the lifespan of clothes through mending.
