Black History Month Essay Contest In-Person
Prompt: Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Had a Dream” speech is arguably his most notable speech, what is your dream for the world?
Elligibility and Rules:
- Students must have an active library card and live and attend school in Jersey City.
- Essay should be no more than 500 words.
- The essay must include a title page with the student’s name, age, phone number, and email.
Essays will be accepted from February 1st-February 28th, and judged by a panel of library staff. The winners will be contacted through email and given the chance to read their essays aloud at the Priscilla Gardner Main Library.
