Uncover the endless possibilities of a sketchbook as a personal laboratory for ideas, textures, and creative play. In this five-week workshop, participants will experiment with a range of techniques to spark imagination and develop a rich, layered visual language. Each week introduces a new approach—mark making with unconventional tools, playful collage, expressive painting, and exploratory drawing—while encouraging personal interpretation and mixed-media combinations.

Through guided exercises, prompts, and free exploration time, you’ll discover how to build dynamic sketchbook pages, develop themes, and let ideas evolve organically. No prior experience is necessary—just curiosity, a willingness to experiment, and an openness to happy accidents.

By the end of the series, you’ll have a sketchbook filled with textures, images, and concepts that can stand on their own or inspire future artworks.

What we’ll explore:

• Week 1 – The Language of Marks – tools, textures, and rhythm

• Week 2 – Collage Conversations – paper layering and composition

• Week 3 – Paint Play – acrylics, washes, and color interaction

• Week 4 – Drawing as Discovery – line, shape, and observation

• Week 5 – Mix & Merge – combining media for rich surfaces
